Imagine. A park, a picnic, some fine food and a sparkling water. Nothing exceptional? Well, have a look at this. It’s in Soho Square, London, and Thierry Marx is cooking for this original and wonderful event-experience made by BABOIT. Accessible and chic.

Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.
Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover. — Mark Twain
May your 2013 be nice trip. Bon voyage!

It has something to do with Christmas. Well, Advent calendar actually.
One window, one chocolate. One chocolate, one memory. Today is the first. There’s Marcel’s madeleine and I have my Advent calendar chocolate.
Christmas 1994. Not yet midnight. Under the Christmas tree, there is this appealing brown box with a golden ribbon knotted around. I am trying to figure out what is inside shaking the box but it tells nothing except that there is indeed something inside. Whatever. I open it. I unwrap the white tissue paper and discover the delicious little pair of red velvet loafer slippers. These are the cutest thing I have ever seen. A deep red fabric and an imperial tartan bow on the top of the shoe. It is not just a gift, it is a treasure.
I still remember this pair of slippers my grandfather bought us for Christmas. My sisters and I all got a pair of it and although we didn’t get to wear them for long, I still remember exactly how they looked like. Sometimes we forget the gifts, we forget the people who offered them to us and sometimes we remember. And when we remember the gift, the moment, the person, it means something. It is nostalgia.

Angel or Devil – Lou Doillon
Lou Doillon. Her deep voice, a trifle veiled. This was a nice surprise.

No. Chanel black is chic.
I won’t talk about the Inevitable. Although I loved the idea. A legendary women fragrance, a man for ambassador and the ad, just the voice as a background. However I have been disappointed by the film. What a shame. The story was brilliant.
But Chanel is still Chanel. And again, I have been charmed.
The Chanel black has always this unexpected impact. It is powerful, imposing, authoritarian and at the same time it is embracing, captivating.
What is incredible is that this ad is obviously about a perfume – the Coco Noir bottle is there – but we can not smell the fragrance, we can not see the fragrance and yet we can almost feel it. We can feel the brand. We are experiencing it.
So Chanel. Inevitable.
